Soccer World takes flight in Europe: two players linked with professional European soccer clubs.
John White, a player on the 2000 XL Elite Rangers under Coach Gary Heale, was presented with a 2 week training opportunity to train with SBV Excelsior Academy in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Exelsior, is a partner club of Feyenoord, whose notable former players include Dutch captain Robin Van Persie and Ivory Coast striker Salomon Kalou.
Edson Candela-Perez (Chris) of the 2001 XL Elite Rangers also under Coach Heale, was awarded a two-week trial with East London side West Ham United F.C Academy in London, England. The West Ham United F.C Academy is identified as one of England’s best for its acclaimed youth academy and has produced such notable players such as Rio Ferdinand, Frank Lampard, Joe Cole, Jermaine Defoe and John Terry. During a trial match with the U16’s, Chris scored twice and set up another in a 4-1 win down in Southend, England.
White and Candela-Perez immediately impressed during their trial period with SBV Excelsior and West Ham United F.C, with both professional clubs acknowledging that XL Soccer World is an organization that produces incredibly talented youth players. Both players have been asked back for extended trials. Soccer World continually provides a pathway for players who show dedication, hard work and have a desire to improve as a player and person. We look forward to the next group of young player’s progressing through our ranks.
Everyone at XL Soccer World would like to formally congratulate both John and Chris on their tremendous achievements in Europe.
